J. Kerrigan, retired chief train dispatcher of the local division of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, died at the family home, 307 Belonda Street, Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh, Pa., Saturday evening, October 26, at 6:45 p.m., following an illness of seventeen weeks. Death was attributed to strokes of apoplexy, of which she suffered three in rather rapid succession. The patient was able to be up and about the house following the first stroke, but received the second and third within a period of eleven days. She lapsed into a coma at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, from which she never rallied. Mrs. Kerrigan, before her marriage in SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, October 21, 1897, was Elmira Ravenscroft, daughter of John Ravenscroft, of Sand Patch. Following their marriage they removed to Connellsville, where they resided for 36 years prior to locating in Pittsburgh, where they have resided for the past seven years. Surviving are her husband, Michael J. Kerrigan, three daughters, Margaret, Catherine and Genevieve, three sons, William and Thomas, at home, and Joseph, of Washington, D.C. Also surviving are a brother, Howard Ravenscroft, of Sand Patch, and a granddaughter. Requiem high mass was celebrated in St. Mary's of the Mount Catholic Church, Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh, of which the deceased was a devoted member, Wednesday, October 29th, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Connellsville. The many friends in this community who remember the Kerrigan family join in tendering deep sympathy in the great loss they have sustained in the removal from their midst of a loyal helpmate, a kind mother and a true and sympathetic friend.
