Kerschensteiner, 77, Berlin, formerly of Somerset, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin. Born April 19, 1928, in Meyersdale, a son of Carl and Hilda (Shultz) Kerschensteiner. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Hazel (Miller) and two sons: Wayne and Lester. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann (Krouse); a son, Dale Kerschensteiner and his wife Deborah, Meyersdale; grandchildren: Jeanette Walentukonis and Daniel and Nicole Kerschensteiner and four great-grandchildren. Stepsons: David Hay, married to the former Jodie Haselbarth, Berlin; Dennis Hay, married to the former Sharon Suhrie, Berlin; Richard Hay and his wife Angie, Ranger, W.Va.; step grandchildren: Rebecca, Aaron, Amber, and Drew and a sister, Hilda Watkins, Berlin. He was retired from the former Celanese Corp. of Cumberland, Md. He was a member of the Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren, Berlin. Family received friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Timothy Resh and Rev. Ralph Landis officiating. Interment, Hostetler Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Somerset Unit, 168 W. Union St., Somerset, PA 15501.
