  Irene L. Kieffer, 80, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Somerset, died
  Sept. 26, 1998, at her residence in South Bend.  Born Feb. 7, 1918,
  in Somerset, the daughter of Ezra Reuben and Lucy Pearl (Lohr)
  Baer.  Preceded in death by parents and husband, Daniel Jacob
  Kieffer, Jr., who died March 15, 1976; 4 sisters: Ella Jean Heritz,
  Anna Mary Lowry, Dorothy Baer and an infant sister.  Survived by two
  children: Daniel J. Kieffer III of Evansville, Ind., and Patricia Ann
  Lafferty of Valparaiso, Ind.; 6 grandchildren and 9
  great-grandchildren.  Sister of Ezra L. Baer and Mrs. Dale (Betty)
  Oglevee, both of Somerset.  Member of First Christian Church,
  Somerset.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 10
  a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Daniel F. Nicksich officiating.  Interment
  Husband Cemetery.
