Kiehl, 88, of Friedens RD 2, died April 14, 1994, at Somerset Hospital. Born Aug. 11, 1905, in Johnstown. Son of Galen and Mary (Anthony) Kiehl. Preceded in death by parents; son, Wayne B.; foster parents, Blair and Amelia Shaffer; half-brother, Foster Rively; half-sister, Annie Humbert. Survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Elsie Spangler; son, Ronald G., married to the former Darlene Doak, of Mechanicsburg; and daughter-in-law, Mary Jane (Holsopple) Kiehl of Friedens RD 2; grandchildren, Dawn Beals, Shelley Stoltz, Debra Seese, Byron and Darren Kiehl; great-grandchildren, Erin and Scott Stoltz, and Kellie Seese. Retired after 44 years with Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown. Member of Shanksville United Methodist Church, where he had held various offices and taught Sunday School. Former member of Shanksville Volunteer Fire Company and Shanksville Sportmen's Club. He was a member of Somerset Lodge No. 358 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory and Jaffa Temple Shrine Altoona. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Douglas E. Burns officiating. Interment Walker Cemetery, Shanksville. Memorial contributions may be given to Shanksville UM Church. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
