Kimmel, 94, Berlin, died June 16, 2005, at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin. Born August 24, 1910, in Bedford County, she was the daughter of Henry and Annie Benning Seifert. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Mathias Kimmel, son Clair, grandson Charles Platt, great-grandson Ben Platt, and brothers Kenneth and Earl Seifert. Survived by daughters Delma Platt, Somerset, and friend C. Edward LaBute; and Ruth Anne, married to Jay Kimmel, Stonycreek Township, grandchildren James Platt, Robert Platt, Ruthanne Clark, David Platt, Clair Platt, Diane Lape, and Jeff and Greg Kimmel; step-granddaughter Rhonda Dively; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Gloria Kimmel; and sister in-law Martha Seifert. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Roxbury. She was also a member of the "Red Hat" Society, and enjoyed quilting, crafts, and word puzzles. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Owen H. Preston and the Rev. Sherman H. Berkey officiating. Interment Downy Cemetery.
