Kimmel, 80, of Green Street, Ellerslie, Md., died Wednesday, July 12, 1989, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born Sept. 1, 1908 near Berlin, he was the son of the late Peter S. and Mae (Braddock) Kimmel. He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations in World War II; he was retired from the former Manufacturers Light and Heat Gas Company of Cumberland, Md., and was a member of the Ellerslie United Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Delta M. (Stollar) Kimmel; three brothers, Edward Kimmel and Robert Kimmel, both of Graysville; and Harry Kimmel, Canton, Ohio; and one sister, Josephine Gildersleeve, Grove City. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman. Services were conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at the Ellerslie United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dennis E. Dorsch. Interment, West Finley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert F. Eckard, Roy C. Mason, Donald D. Woodrum. Kenneth E. Growden, Leroy C. Kimmel, and James A. Mathews. The Republic, July 20, 1989 [K0499]
