Born April 8, 1911, in Bedford County, son of Simon Snyder and Ada Mae (Ankney) Kimmel. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Paul, Golden, Albert, George, William and Nathan Kimmel; and sisters, Lizzie Walker, Mary Kimmel, Maggie Kimmel and Evelyn Thompson. Survived by his wife, the former Matilda Jane Shaulis, to whom he was married 59 years; and these children: Jack A. Kimmel, married to the former Jacqueline Simmons, David D. Kimmel, married to the former Judy Latshaw; Roland J. Kimmel, married to the former Kristi Bowlin; and Thomas E. Kimmel, married to the former Vivian Geisel, all of Somerset; Timothy C. Kimmel, married to the former Sandra Lizza of Connellsville; Jonathan L. Kimmel, married to the former Anne Martz and Ruth A., wife of Martin O. Siemon III, both of Somerset. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Brother of Clark Kimmel of Somerset. Member of Bethany United Methodist Church, where he had been secretary of the Sunday School. Retired employee of Ward Miller Construction, and a self-employed house painter. Friends received from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, at Bethany United Methodist Church. The Rev. Barry Ritenour officiating. Viewing at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
