Kimmel of Berlin RD 1, died Thursday, Jan. 29, at his late residence. He was born September 17, 1870, and reached the age of 78 years, four months and three days. He was the youngest son of the late Josiah and Susan (Glessner) Kimmel and spent his life on the farm formerly owned by his parents. His wife, Melissa Schrock Kimmel, preceded him in death eleven years. Mr. Kimmel was a faithful member of the Brethren Church in Berlin for sixty- six years. He was a brother of the late Rev. J. L. Kimmel of Indiana, one of the leading ministers of the church. He was a prosperous farmer and leaves to mourn his passing five sons, Gideon, Pius and Ernest Kimmel, Berlin RD 1; Daniel Kimmel, Somerset, and Harry Kimmel, Stoystown, and one daughter, Miss Bernice Kimmel. Funeral services were held in the Berlin Brethren Church, Sunday at 2:30 p.m., with his pastor, the Rev. Percy C. Miller, officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Berlin, under direction of Johnson & Son. Meyersdale Republican, January 27, 1949
