Kimmel, former citizen of Salisbury during his earlier years, died in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 10, 1943, at the age of 68 years. He located in Ohio, if the writer remembers correctly, more than 30 years ago. Full details of his death are unknown to anyone here at the time of this writing, Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Kimmel's body is due to arrive in Meyersdale Thursday noon, and to be taken charge of upon its arrival by Stanley M. Thomas, Salisbury mortician. The funeral service has been announced to take place at 3 o'clock p.m., Thursday, at the Thomas Funeral Home, and conducted by Rev. S. D. Sigler, with interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery to follow, under direction of Mortician Thomas. Mr. Kimmel is survived by his wife, Henrietta, the eldest child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wagner; also by two daughters and a son, namely, Mrs. Gladys Westfall, Miss Verda Kimmel and Headly Kimmel. Three grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Kimmel's father was a gallant veteran of the Civil War. Her husband was kind and devoted to her and their children, and was held in high esteem by all who knew him, for his many fine traits of character. Meyersdale Republican, May 13, 1943 --- Foster I. Kimmel Funeral Delayed The funeral of Foster I. Kimmel, whose obituary appeared in last week's issue of The Republican, took place last Friday at 10:30 a.m., instead of 3 p.m., Thursday, as had been announced. Mr. Kimmel's body did not arrive here until Thursday evening, hence the delay in the funeral services. The other details as given in the obituary were correct; but they were not complete, because they were not available when the obituary was published. There are still many friends of Mr. Kimmel in Salisbury, where he and his family resided before locating in Ohio. Naturally, they will be interested in the following additional details concerning the funeral, his last illness, etc. In addition to local persons who attended the funeral, it was also attended by all of Mr. Kimmel's four children, and his three grandchildren. Mrs. Kimmel could not be here, on account of being terribly afflicted with chronic asthma, which has kept her confined to her home in Cuyahoga Falls, ever since some time last June. Her husband had also been in failing health during the last year or two, but kept on working most of the time until a little more than two weeks before he died. He was taken to a hospital on May 9, and died the next evening. He seemed to have an ailment of the heart. Meyersdale Republican, May 20, 1943
