Kimmel age 76, a resident at the Rose Lane Health Center, died Feb. 15, 1996, in Rose Lane following an extended illness. Born in Jenners Township, Pa., Feb. 22, 1919, he had been a resident of the Canton-Louisville area for the past 25 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a former coal miner and a retired employee of the Diamond Portland Cement Co., retiring in 1976 after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ in Pa. and a member of the Old Timers Baseball Association, the Jenners Rod and Gun Club and the United Mine Workers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen I. Kimmel and a daughter, Ethel Mizner. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Rick Farkas of Canton, Ohio; two sisters, Annabelle Lottig of Pa. and Blanche Fatula of Cleveland, Ohio; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. There will be calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home, Canton, Ohio, from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. There will be no funeral service and he will be cremated.
