Kimmel, 87, of Friedens RD 2, died Jan. 19, 1987, at White Star Residence, Jennerstown. Born March 23, 1899, in Lincoln Township, son of William Elmer and Nora (Shaulis) Kimmel. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Carrie Saylor; son, Gene; brother, Clyde; and sisters, Olive Williams and Minnie Tritts. Survived by four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Brother of: Harry, Jenners; Anna Baldwin, Johnstown; and Verta Mae Heist, Sipesville; also nieces and nephews. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset. Charter member, Hooversville Lions Club. Also Somerset Senior Citizens, where he served many hours as a volunteer, and AARP. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. James Meyers.
