Kimmel, 86, of Stoystown, died July 7, 1979 in his residence. Born June 26, 1893 in Quemahoning Township, a son of Wesley and Mary (McDivit) Kimmel. Preceded in death by parents and three sisters. Survived by widow, the former Ethel Miller, whom he married June 29, 1917, and these children: Mrs. Frank (Jacquelyne) Lauer of Wexford, Pa., 1st Sgt. James W., married to the former Edyth Steckman of Somerset; also four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Robert K. Musser. Attended the Reading Grace Brethren Church, retired owner and founder of former Kimmel's Park near Stoystown, Army veteran of WW I; charter member of the Robert Hite Post 257 American Legion, Stoystown. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Deaner Funeral Home in Stoystown where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Larry R. Weigle officiating. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. If friends wish, instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the Reading Grace Grethren Church, Stoystown RD 3.
