"Dick" Kimmel, 71, of Rockwood RD 2, died June 21, 1985, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born May 30, 1914, in Johnstown, son of the late John and Virginia (Kimmel) Kimmel. Preceded in death by three brothers: Paul, John and Frank. Survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Edna Dietle; two daughters: Mrs. Clarence R. (Pamela) Schrock, Rockwood RD 2; and Mrs. Barry D. (Patricia) Enos, Mount Joy, Pa.; five grandchildren. A brother of: Merle D. Kimmel of Somerset and Mrs. John R. (Ruth) Owen of Solana Beach, Calif. Charter member of Laurel Hill Lions Club, serving as its first president; former director of Somerset R.E.C.; World War II veteran of U.S. Navy; member of the VFW and American Legion, both of Somerset; member of Grace United Methodist Church, Somerset; owner and operator of Kimmel's Red and White Store in Trent for 25 years; and was a star athlete in Somerset Area Schools in 1931-33 period. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Saturday, noon-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where funeral service will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
