KIMMEL Following an illness of several weeks, William J. Kimmel, aged 78 years, died at his home near Rockwood at 6 o'clock Wednesday morning, March 26. He was a life-long resident of Somerset County and well-known retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Frances (Will) Kimmel, and the following children: Mrs. Norman S. Maust, of Springs; Mrs. Nellie Brunner, of near Rockwood; Mrs. Lena Butler, of Salisbury; Mrs. Wm. D. Enfield, of Somerset; Mrs. John Sleesman, of Somerset; Mrs. Wm. J. Knepper and Mrs. Norman Gross, of near Rockwood, and Paul W. Kimmel, of Woodland Avenue, Johnstown. Mr. Kimmel also is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Sarah Fike, of Waterloo, Ia.; Mrs. Elizabeth Phillippi, of Beloit, Kan.; George W. Kimmel, of Hancock, Minn.; Mrs. Rebecca Friedline, of Boswell; Miss Emma Kimmel and Harvey H. Kimmel, both of near Bakersville. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was a member of the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren, situated a short distance from his home, where funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. W. F. Berkebile, assisted by Rev. J. F. Messenger, of the First Christian Church, Somerset, of which Mrs. Kimmel is a member. Meyersdale Republican, April 3, 1930
