King, 78, of Shore Drive, Edgewater, Md., formerly of Friedens, died Dec. 30, 1987, in Fairfield Nursing Home, Crownsville, Md. He was born Aug. 29, 1909, in Rockwood, son of the late John R. and Mary Ellen (Meyers) King. Preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Elsie Enos; and his wife, the former Mary Jane Michaels, in 1984. Survived by one son, Ashton M. of Lothian, Md.; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and step-mother, Florence King of Somerset. A brother of William King of Rockwood RD 3; Mrs. Amanda Pletcher of Indian Head; Mrs. Martha Dwire of Rockwood; Earl King of Somerset RD 5; and Dorothy King of Somerset. Member of St. Francis In The Fields Episcopal Church, Somerset. Honorary life member of Somerset County Jeep Club. Member of the Improved Order of Red Men of Philadelphia. He was a truck mechanic for more than 20 years for Gilmour's Service. Former owner and operator of King's Trailer Court in Friedens. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Father Terry Johnson officiating.
