Locomotive Martin King, of Philson, two miles east of Sand Patch, was fatally injured Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a Baltimore & Ohio locomotive. The body was found by members of a train crew. The victim's head was crushed and his body was badly mangled. King, who lived on a farm near the scene of the accident, is said to have left his home on a business mission. He is survived by his wife and several children. Justice of the Peace, M. R. Leckemby, of Meyersdale, was delegated by the Deputy-Coronor, Mrs. Emily K. Fluck, to conduct an inquest at the King home, Wednesday afternoon. A verdict of accidental death was rendered. Funeral services were held at Mt. Olivet Evangelical Church, Thursday afternoon, Rev. C. W. Raley officiating. King was 76 years old. Meyersdale Republican, May 14, 1931
