(Slim) King, 73, of Markleton RD 1, died Aug. 11, 1981, in his home. He was born Jan. 10, 1908, in Markleton, a son of Samuel and Martha (Firestone) King. He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine (May) King of Markleton; six sons: Roy M., John E., Paul E., Dale, and Everett, all of Markleton; and Sheldon of Rockwood; two daughters: Shirley Albright, and Mary Alice Johnson, both of Markleton; 39 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Jim of Durham, N.C.; Ray, and Warren, both of Markleton; and seven sisters: Ruth Trimpey, Freda Metheney, Mary Trimpey, and Betty Baker, all of Markleton; Olive Woods of Confluence; Lola Conway, Warren, Ohio; and Alice Miller, Somerset. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. His death terminates a marriage union of 51 years. He was a retired employee of the B&O Railroad with 43 years of service. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Carmen and Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Friends were received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood. Services were held in the Old Bethel Church with the Rev. Earl Meyers officiating. Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery. The Republic, August 20, 1981 [K0641]
