King Sr., 80, Somerset, died May 18, 1998 in his home. Born Nov. 9, 1917, in Pittsburgh, a son of Gustav and Mildred (Trosene) King. Preceded in death by parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by wife, Juanita; 2 children, Sandra, wife of Hubert King, Cranberry Township, and Roy W. Jr., married to the former Jane Koman, Sagamore Hills, Ohio; 5 grandchildren: Richard King, Shanksville; Stacy Duppstadt, Buckstown; Jody Walsh, Lambertsville; Scott King, Zelienople; and Heather Jennings, Berlin; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph King, Pittsburgh; and sister, Beatrice Sheeler, Somerset. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset. Veteran of World War II. Lifetime member and past commander of S.S. Crouse Post #181 American Legion and a member of the Crouse Cadets; VFW Post #554, Somerset; B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1951, Meyersdale; and member of Sheet Metal Workers of Western Pa. Local #12. Was employed in the Pittsburgh area in the sheet metal industry. Operated a sheet metal shop, King's Sheet Metal Shop, in Somerset. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-.4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Robert L. Hoover Jr. officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to "In-Touch" Hospice, South Center Avenue, Somerset, or Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset.
