King, 86, Kingview Road, Scottdale, died Sunday Dec. 2, 1984, in Mount Pleasant. Born Oct. 13, 1898, in Scottdale, son of the late Samuel F. and Minnie (Miller) King Boyd. He was involved in the ownership and management of several Holiday Inns and was the owner-operator of the former King Brothers Coal and Coke Co. of Scottdale. Member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Connellsville. Veteran of the U.S. Army during World War I. Preceded in death by his wife, Louise M.; sister, Ruth King; three brothers: Charles, Carl and S. Quay King; and half-brother, Harry F. Boyd. Survived by two sons: Samuel F. King, Yardley, Pa.; and Charles W. King, Greensburg; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Gloria) Furrh, Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and five great-granddaughters. Friends will be received at the James Murphy Memorial Home, 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held in the memorial home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
