King, Winfield Scott

Winfield Scott King, a well known farmer of Upper Turkeyfoot Township, passed to 
his reward on July 30, at the home of his son, in North Dakota, aged 64 years. 
He was a son of Samuel King. His first wife was Miss Anna Phillippi, of 
Rockwood. Surviving children of this union are, Ross M. and Samuel C. both of 
Upper Turkeyfoot Township; Mrs. F. F. Gerhard, of Kingwood, and John W. of 
Merricourt, N. D. The second wife, who was Miss Evaline Whipkey, survives with 
these children: Miss Cappie, who lives with her brother in the west; Miss 
Nannie, Iva and Orlan all at home. Deceased was a lifelong and consistent member 
of Wesley M. E. Chapel, at Scullton. The body was brought east by his son for 
interment.
