He was born January 15, 1954 in Somerset, the son of Robert and Ferne Kinter of Rockwood. He was the husband of Suzanne Geaney. Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are his daughter, Leighann Geaney Kinter, Sykesville, currently attending Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut; and his son, Neill Geaney Kinter, Sykesville, currently attending Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Randy attended the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate work and obtained his masters degree in Engineering Administration from George Washington University. He worked for the past five years as an Electrical Engineer for Teledyne Energy Systems in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Randy was active in church singing groups for the past 23 years. The family received friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road in Sykesville where a wake service was held at 8:45 p.m. on Monday. A funeral liturgy was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 9201 Church Street in Libertytown. Interment followed in the cemetery at St. Peter the Apostle Church. The family requests no flowers and would like donations to be sent to Ignatian Volunteer Corps, 801 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD 21202 or St. Peter the Apostle Church, 9201 Church Street, Libertytown, MD 21762.
