Kinton, 63, of Missoula, MT, died of cancer Saturday, January 25, in a Missoula hospital. He was born March 26, 1922, in Meyersdale to Merrill and Lyda Kinton. He was raised and attended schools in Pennsylvania and enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II when he was 19 years old. He received the Purple Heart during the war. Following the war, he married Marjorie Pyle in Baltimore, Md. He worked in ironwork construction before moving to Montana in 1950. He was employed by the Employment Security Division for the State of Montana for the past 30 years in Billings and Glendive and in Missoula since 1967. He retired in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Kinton, of Missoula; one son, Bob Kinton, Missoula; a daughter, Linda Schock, Harlowton; his mother, Lyda Lewis, Billings; and two grandchildren; three aunts, Mrs. Irvin Schafer, of Meyersdale; Sarah Klink, of Maryland; and Nell Engle, of Michigan. Memorial services were held at the First United Methodist Church in Missoula, under the direction of Squire Simmons & Carr Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Phelps officiated. Masonic services were also held. Cremation preceded the services. The Republic, February 13, 1986 [K0700]
