  Betty I. Kirk, 73, of Selbyville, Del., formerly of Baltimore, Md.,
  went to be with the Lord Oct. 13, 2000 at the home of her son in
  Berlin.  Born Sept. 16, 1927, in Baltimore, daughter of Henry and
  Helen (Zimmerman) Owings.  Preceded in death by parents; husband,
  Melvin A. Sr.; brother, Duane Owings; and sister, Lydia Stockman. 
  Survived by son, Pastor Melvin A. Kirk Jr., married to former Mary Jo
  Meyers of Berlin; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Malinda Kirk,
  and numerous nieces and nephews.  Member of St. Peter's Lutheran
  Church, Ocean City, Md., and O.C. She Shells.  Family will receive
  friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Deaner Funeral Home,
  Berlin, from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at St. James Lutheran Church,
  Baltimore, Md., followed by a service at St. Peter's Lutheran Church
  in Ocean City, Md.  Committal at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery,
  Hurlock, Md.  Rev. Doctor Harry Wolpert III officiating.  In lieu of
  flowers, contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church,
  PO Box 95, Berlin, Pa., 15530, or St. Peter's Lutheran Church, PO Box
  1983, Ocean City, Md., 21842.
