  KISTER 
  
  Oran Levi Kister, 96, of Somerset died Jan. 17, 2000 at Shaffer
  Countryside Personal Care Boarding Home in Friedens.  Born June 6,
  1903 in Somerset.  Son of Charles Burton and Sarah Elizabeth (Landis)
  Kister.  Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Emma Elizabeth
  Schmucker who died Dec. 6, 1990, and brothers Clyde, Clifford and
  Warren Kister.  Survived by a sister Mrs. Harvey (Luella) Hoover of
  Somerset and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Gladys Kister of Somerset and
  Mrs. Janet O. "Chip" Kister of Somerset.  Also these special nieces
  and nephews: Clifford Kister Jr., Shanksville; Merlin Kister,
  Lancaster; Alan Kister, Friedens; Mrs. Franklin (Louise) Wagner of
  Salisbury; Mrs. Steve (Candace) Christner, Friedens; Warren Kister
  Jr., Somerset; Carl Kister, Somerset; Mrs. Bradley (Cane) Conn,
  Friedens; Ms. Rebecca Mackanos, Friedens; Mrs. William (Eleanor)
  Gasper, Johnstown; Mrs. Lee H. (Betty) Albright, Meyersdale; Mrs.
  Sarah Fritz, Somerset; Mrs. Mary C. Shaulis, Sipesville; Mrs. June
  Griffith, Fern Park, Fla. and Lewis Lambert of Altoona.  Member of
  St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset, where he served as a
  former deacon.  He had taught school at the former Glade Hurst School
  for two years; and had worked for U.S. Steel Mill in Johnstown. 
  Retired delivery truck driver for the former Walker Dairy Co. with 30
  years service.  Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Wednesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where service
  will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Glenn E. Sadler
  officiating.  Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.  Contributions
  may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ 1202 West Union St.,
  Somerset, Pa 15501.
