Born April 22, 1915, in Lincoln Township, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Amy Minerva (Berkey) Kline. Preceded in death by parents, wife, Henrietta Elsie (Hoffman) Kline; and brothers Merle B. Kline and Marcellus Kline. Survived by children, Mrs. Bryan H. (Judy) Hay, Rockwood; and Mrs. Jack (Mary Beth) Freeman, Solon, Ohio; grand-children, Michael Hay, Rockwood; and Nathaniel Freeman, Ann Arbor, Mich. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, where he served as an elder. A 1933 graduate of Massanuten Military Academy in Woodstock, Va. Was a major in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Life member of Somerset Volunteer Fire Department. Past mayor of Somerset. Past president of Somerset Country Club. Past member of Somerset Rotary Club. Retired Director, Pennsylvania Department of Community Affairs. Worked as Chief Somerset County Probation officer. Mr. Kline was an avid golfer and enjoyed his time on the greens. Friends received from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where a service will be conducted. The Rev. Matthew Deal officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ in memory of Mr. Kline.
