Klose, 88, of Berlin, died and went to be with the Lord while at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, on Sept. 19, 2002. Born June 27, 1914 in Berlin, the daughter of Harry E. and Rae (Lowry) Landis. Preceded in death by parents and husband, Dr. Paul L. Klose. Survived by two sons, Ben M. Scheller and Stanley L. Scheller, both of Berlin; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was a 1932 graduate of the former Berlin High School and a graduate of Conemaugh Memorial School of Nursing. Her career in nursing covered a period of more than 50 years, most of the time as a nurse for her physician husband, Dr. Paul L. Klose, in his private practice in Berlin, where together they made many house calls and delivered many babies at home. Her early nursing was with Dr. I .C. Miller, Berlin. She was a member of the Berlin Brethren Church and Meyersdale Chapter 548 Order of Eastern Star. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, with an O.E.S. service at 7 p.m. at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Owen Preston officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Berlin Brethren Church, 620 Main St., Berlin, Pa., 15530.
