Born Jan. 12, 1918, in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Minnie (Slaughter) and Joseph Willoughby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Knecht; three brothers, Walter, Herbert and Raymond Willoughby; two sisters, Helen and Viola; and a granddaughter, Karen Marie Knecht. She is survived by a son, William R. Knecht and wife, Maryann, Yerington, Nev.; a daughter, Judy Ann Biddington and husband, William, Fort Hill; two grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Sheriff and husband, Brian; James Joseph Biddington and wife, Debra; a great-grandson, Drake Ulrich. Mrs. Knecht was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, West Salisbury, and the Altar Society. She also served as a Brownie Leader. A Mass memorial service will be held in St. Michael's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday with the Rev. Jerome Dunn officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
