Knecht, 62, of West Salisbury, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 14, 1973, while at work. He was a partner of M. Knecht and Sons Foundry, West Salisbury. Born in West Salisbury, March 21, 1911, he was a son of the late William M. and Alice (Bevans) Knecht. His wife, the former Loma Snowden, preceded him in death in 1970. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Salisbury and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, West Salisbury. Surviving are three sons, Martin C. Jr., David and Brian Knecht, all of West Salisbury; a daughter, Miss Emily Sue Knecht, Rock Hill, S.C.; a brother, Carl Knecht, Salisbury; and four sisters, Mrs. Marie Miller, Salisbury; Mrs. Regina Burns, Baltimore; Miss Rita Knecht, West Salisbury; and Mrs. Jane Wellslager, Mt. Arlington, N. J. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated Tuesday morning in St. Michael's Church by Rev. John J. Marshall. Burial in the parish cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, April 19, 1973 [K0837]
