    RITA KNECHT
    
      Rita Marceline Knecht, 82, of West Salisbury, died Monday, April
  20, 1998, at Meyersdale Medical Center.
      Born Oct. 16, 1915, in West Salisbury, she was a daughter of the
  late William and Alice (Bevans) Knecht.
      Miss Knecht is survived by a sister, Regina Burns, Baltimore,
  Md.; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Knecht, Chambersburg; and Gleaves
  Knecht of Washington, D.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.  She
  was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and enjoyed playing
  bingo.
      Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc.,
  Salisbury, on April 21.  A Christian wake service was also said at
  the funeral home Tuesday.  Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated
  April 22 at St. Michael's Church, with the Rev. Fr. Bernard White
  officiating.  Interment, parish cemetery.
