Knepper, 87, Berlin, died May 5, 2002, at Somerset Hospital. Born Aug. 27, 1914 in Stonycreek Township, son of Alvin R. and Susan (Meyers) Knepper. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Knepper Brant; brother, Meyers Knepper; and two sisters, Leora Saylor Walker and Gladys Darr. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Hazel (Landis) Knepper; four sons, Ronald, married to the former Helen Ann Hillegass, Andover, Mass., David, Arlington, Va., Richard, married to the former Ann Smith, Keene, N.H., and Thomas, married to Mary Ann, Ligonier; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma, married to Chester Long, Friedens; and a son-in-law, James Brant, Friedens. Member and deacon at the Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren, Brotherton. Past president and board member of Shanksville-Stonycreek High School. He was a graduate of Somerset High School, class of 1932. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, and on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of service, at the Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren, Brotherton.
