Platt, in Somerset. She was the second wife and widow of Hon. Amos W. Knepper, who died some years ago. Her death was attributed to a heart attack. She was born April 2, 1869 in Somerset borough, the only daughter of William H. and Sarah Weyland Platt. Until marriage, with the late Amos W. Knepper, on June 8, 1917, she resided in the parental residence on East Union Street. After marriage she resided in the Knepper residence on East Main Street, where she continued to live after her husband's death. About a year ago, ill health forced her to take her meals and sleep at the Platt residence, although she went each day to her own home for a number of hours. She had done this Monday and Tuesday of this week as usual. During her long life, Mrs. Knepper was a faithful member and worker in the Somerset Methodist Church and for many years taught a Sunday school class of young boys. Her life was devoted to church work. Surviving are one brother, George J. Platt, two nieces, Mrs. Irma Platt Cromleigh of Parkesburg, and Mrs. Rosetta Platt Lobach of Greensburg. A stepson, the Rev. George W. Knepper, retired Christian minister, resides in Akron, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Walter S. Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. W. L. Crawford, pastor of the Somerset Methodist Church and Rev. J. F. Messenger, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Interment in the Husband Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, March 30, 1944
