All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ DENNIS KNIERIEM Dennis Knieriem, aged 76, lifelong resident of Meyersdale and retired stonemason, died at 8 o'clock, Thursday evening, Nov. 9, in the Hazel McGilvery Hospital, where he had been a patient for three weeks. He was born here on July 31, 1868, a son of the late John and Anna (Kinderman) Knieriem. He was a lifelong member of Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church, was a deacon for many years and was associated with the Men's Bible Class. He also was a member of the Odd Fellow's Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Catherine (Miller) Knieriem, and six sons and two daughters - Robert D., and Charles W., in military service; George G., Beaver, Pa.; Ray W., Meyersdale R.D. 4; Homer F., Wilmington, Del.; Harry W., Johnstown; Mrs. Harry Cramer, Morgantown, W.Va.; and Mrs. Merle Coughenour, Salisbury. He also leaves 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Knieriem home on Salisbury St., by Rev. Nelson C. Brown, pastor of Amity Church. Interment was made in Union Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price & Son, local morticians. Meyersdale Republican, November 16, 1944
