  KNISS
  
  Sanford R. Kniss, 71, of Davidsville RD 1, died Dec. 26, 1995, at
  home.  Born March 23, 1924, in Tire Hill.  Son of George and Sarah
  (Swank) Kniss.  Preceded in death by parents and three brothers. 
  Survived by wife, the former Rhoda Fern Horner, and these children:
  Dennis, married to the former Gloria Ogg, Westminster, Md.; Barbara
  Deffenbaugh, Lynchburg, Va.; Pamela, wife of Gregory George,
  Mechanicsburg; Sally, wife of John Fuge, Davidsville; eight
  grandchildren and one great-grandson.  Brother of Anna Blough of
  Davidsville.  Member of Tire Hill Church of the Brethren, where he
  served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and superintendent.  Member
  of Tire Hill Senior Citizens.  Army veteran.  Retired from U.S.
  Steel, Johnstown, with 37 years service.  Death breaks marriage union
  of 48 years.  Family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2
  to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc.,
  Davidsville, where deacon service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. 
  Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tire Hill Church of the
  Brethren, where remains will lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of
  service, Rev. Jack Rupert officiating.  Interment, Maple Spring
  Cemetery.
