Knopsnyder, 69, of Markleton RD 1, died April 26, 1989, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born May 8, 1919, in Markleton, a son of the late Joseph and Ella (Dwire) Knopsnyder. Survived by three sons: Alfred of Berlin RD 3; Ross of Markleton; and Leroy of Rockwood; one daughter, Mrs. Delores Ringlet of Markleton RD 1; one brother, Harry of Markleton; three sisters: Mrs. Edna Ohler of Alexandria, Va.; Mrs. Violet Knopsnyder of Markleton; and Mrs. Erma Gatterman of Maryland; also 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence (Murray) Knopsnyder, Feb. 28, 1985. He was employed as a coal miner and was a member of United Mine Workers of America, Local 1742 of Jennerstown. Friends will be received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Thursday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, where services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Walter Boring officiating. Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery, Markleton. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, with Francis Brady supervising.
