    VIRGINIA RUTH KNOTTS
  
  Virginia Ruth Knotts, 82, Shirley Hollow Road, formerly of Knotts Road,
  Meyersdale, died Sept. 30, 2004, at Rest Assured Living Center, Meyersdale.
  Born June 26, 1922, in Pierce, W.Va., she is the daughter of the late John
  and Midgetta (Losh) Stemple.  Also preceded in death by Jacob W. Knotts Sr.,
  her husband of nearly 65 years, in 2001; sons, David Knotts and Donald
  Knotts Sr.; two brothers, Billy and Leonard and two sisters, Norine Parsons
  and Nina Wotring.  Survived by three sons, Richard A. and wife Jeannie
  (Wright), Frostburg; Alfred R. and wife Joyce (Leydig), Berlin; and Jacob
  W. Jr. and wife Joyce (Wagner), Hagerstown, Md.; one daughter, Alma R.
  Schwanke and husband, Richard, Abingdon, Md.; one brother, Edward Stemple,
  Baltimore, Md.; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Knotts
  was a homemaker, a loving mother, and a devoted grandmother.  Friends will
  be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home,
  169 Clarence St., Hyndman.  A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m.
  Saturday at the funeral home.  The Rev. Ralph Landis officiating.  Interment
  will be in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Glencoe.
