EMILY KNOX

Grantsville, Maryland

  Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Durst Knox, 74, were conducted Friday morning 
at the Laughlin Church of the Brethren by Rev. J. C. Beam, pastor, assisted by 
Rev. V. R. Gillum.  Mrs. Knox died Tuesday morning, October 7, at her home near 
here, from a heart attack.
  Mrs. Knox was the daughter of the late Amos Butler and Mary Hannah (Durst) 
Butler of near here.
  Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Michael Tissue, Somerfield, Pa.; three 
brothers, John and Benjamin of near Grantsville, and Chas, of Blairsville, Pa.; 
one daughter, Ethel Durst, at home, and one son, John Durst; eight grandchildren 
and three great-grandchildren.
  Interment was in the Durst Cemetery near Grantsville.  Pallbearers were 
Bayard, Claude, Harold and Alton Butler, Ernest Durst and Simon Bittinger.
