Born in Millway, Lancaster County, son of the late Frank E. and Bertha Gleason Knox. Survived by his wife, the former Florence L. Tossing of Somerset County, and these sisters: Inex, wife of Martin Dellinger, and Florence, wife of Gerald Eby, both of Lancaster; Suella, wife of Arthur Adams, Talmadge; Llyra, wife of Roy Messner, Baltimore; and Rexine, wife of Charles Mentzer, Ephrata. A veteran of World War II, served with the U.S. Navy. Had lived in Ephrata since 1959. Member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, and former member of church official board. Member of Ephrata Lodge 665, F & AM. Formerly employed by the Southern Pipeline Co. and the Ashland Oil Co., and for the past four years was with maintenance department, Pennsylvania Turnpike Authority. Member of the Teamsters Union and Ephrata VFW. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Gravenor Home for Funerals, Ephrata. Further viewing will be held at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, Sunday evening. Interment Addison Cemetery, 10 a.m. Monday, Rev. William Rodahaver officiating.
