Born April 24, 1928, in Somerset Township, son of Charles Ray and Marian Elizabeth (Barclay) Knupp. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife, the former Audrey Adel Lantzy, to whom he was married for 45 years; and the following children: Ms. Adele M. Brant of Bakersville; Tim A. Knupp, married to the former Robin Dunmeyer, of Bakersville; Scott E. Knupp, married to the former Linda Bonnoni, of Avonmore; Mrs. Ronald D. (Jayne) Boxler of Somerset; Craig R. Knupp, married to the former Linda Mostoller, of Bakersville and Blaine Jay Knupp, married to the former Lisa Shroyer, of Trent. Also survived by 12 grandchildren: Mrs. Christopher (Jennifer) Smith, Jessica Brant, Krystal, Kelsey, Kaila and Britnee Knupp, Breanna Colson, Jamie and Stacy Boxier, Nicholas Popovich, Austin Jay Knupp and Brady Knupp. Brother of Robert G. Knupp of Somerset. Life member and councilman of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Bakersville. 1946 graduate of Somerset High School. Maintenance guard for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Allegheny Tunnel, retiring in 1990 with 24 years of service. Courier for Somerset Hospital from 1994 to 1999. Board member and secretary of the Laurel Ridge Sportsman's Association, former trustee and treasurer of the Bakersville Community Grove, member of the Trent, Bakersville and Lavansville Rod and Gun Club, the Somerset County Fly Tyers Club, the Somerset County Horseshoe Pitchers Association and the Terrace Lane Senior Bowling League. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Edward W. Ebersole officiating. Interment, Bakersville Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 3093 Glades Pike, Somerset, Pa. 15501.
