Knupp, 86, East Second Street, Gray, died unexpectedly March 28, 2000, at home. Born Feb. 4, 1914, in Somerset County, son of Charles and Mary (Maust) Knupp. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, the former Mary Ross; son, Curtis, Sept. 6, 1996; sisters, Marlene Meagher and Olive Dixon; and brothers, Dwight, Paul, George and Elwood. Survived by wife, the former Mildred Long; daughter, Charlotte Garnik, Harrisburg; stepdaughter, Carolyn Brown, Waldorf, Md.; and daughter-in-law, Helen Knupp, Orlando, Fla. Also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brother of Jean Boyts, Southington, Ohio, and Clyde, Boswell RD. Member of the Sipesville Church of the Brethren, Latrobe Lodge 541 IOOF and the UMWA. Army veteran of World War II. Observed 48th wedding anniversary May 16, 1999. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Danny R. Bailey officiating.
