Born Dec. 2, 1927, in Jenners, son of John and Katherine (Drabik) Koba. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Olga Smithson; and brother, Metro. Survived by son, David, married to former Patricia Mishler, Davidsville; grandchildren, Heather, mar-ried to Nikolas Shaffer, Greensburg; and David, Pittsburgh; great-grand-daughter, Morgan Shaffer; sisters, Mary, widow of Charles Fedinotz, Jenners; Ann, married to Father Ivan Dornic, Baltimore; and Julia, widow of Conrad Helsel, Johnstown; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Debbie Singel and Gary and Brian Helsel, all of Johnstown. He is a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Retired federal mine inspector. Member of Jerome Post 802 American Legion. Viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where a service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev.
