Blair Kolb, 66, of Springs, died Sunday, July 3, 1994, at his residence. Born July 15, 1927, at Springs, son of the late Edwin and Elva (Gelnett) Kolb. Preceded in death by a brother, Merle Kolb, and a sister, Mary Schrock. Kolb was a self-employed building contractor, operating Kolb Contracting Inc., Springs. He was past president of Somerset County Home Builders Assn., and 1980 annual Home Builder of the Year. Member of the Pennsylvania Builders Association and Maryland Home Builders Association. Former co-owner of Clapper and Kolb Inc., of Meyersdale. Member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury, where he served as an elder and deacon for over 40 years, also Sunday school treasurer and building committee member. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Lou (Keim) Kolb; a son, Ruth B. Kolb and wife, Deb, of Springs; a daughter, Cindy Kolb, Somerset; 2 brothers, Robert Kolb and Donald Kolb, both of Springs, and a sister, Bernice Schrock, Springs. Also surviving is his granddaughter, Susan Kolb. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury, with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
