Koontz, 58, of Stoystown, died May 27, 1975, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born July 23, 1916, in Stoystown, son of Frank and Stella (Coleman) Koontz. Preceded in death by parents; son, Nicholas; and one brother, Fred. Survived by widow, the former Christine Zimmerman; and the following children: Mrs. Hubert (Gretchen) Donahue of Berlin; Mrs. Alyson Oppegard of Stoystown; and Martha at home and three grandchildren: Molly, Elizabeth and Quinn. Brother of Merle, Robert and Mrs. Wilbur (Katherine) Whipkey, all of Somerset; and Mrs. Clyde (Evelyn) Wentz, Stoystown. Employed by Sani Dairy, Johnstown. Retired Stoystown Borough Chief of Police and constable. Air Force veteran of World War II. Member of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown; Stoystown IOOF Lodge; and American Legion. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Charles R. Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, and until noon Saturday, when remains will be removed to Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown, to lie in state from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Saturday, with Rev.
