  KOONTZ
  
  J. Merle Koontz, 71, of West Main St., Somerset, died Dec. 23, 1975,
  at his residence.  He was born March 1 [    ] Kantner the son [  ]
  Frank and Stella [    ] Koontz.  He was preceded in death by his
  wife, the former Leora Blanche Swartz, a grandson and two brothers,
  Fred and Harold.  Also surviving are two children, Mrs. Stoy (Jean)
  Otto of Somerset; and Jerry S. of Witchita, Kan.; six grandchildren
  and two great-grandchildren.  He was a brother of Robert of Friedens;
  Mrs. Clyde (Evelyn) Wentz of Stoystown; and Mrs. Wilbur (Catherine)
  Whipkey of Somerset.  Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset,
  and a retired employe of U.S. Steel Corporation, Johnstown.  Friends
  will be received after 2 p.m. (today) Friday in the Richard E. Hauger
  Funeral Home where services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. with
  the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating.  Interment, Somerset County
  Memorial Park.
