  Lloyd E. Koontz, 71, of Blairsville RD 1, formerly of Boswell, died
  May 16, 1997, at Lee Hospital, Johnstown.  Born Oct. 25, 1925, in
  Stoystown.  Son of Joseph Wachter "Grinny" and Elizabeth Grace
  (Griffith) Koontz.  Preceded in death by parents; grandson Bradly
  Lynn Koontz and brother William.  Survived by wife, the former
  Marietta Pyle; son Randall, married to Barbara Stern, Boswell; and
  granddaughters Natalie Koontz and fiance Joseph Felix, and Holly and
  Marcie Koontz.  Brother of Jane, widow of Donald Barnett, of St.
  Thomas, Pa.; and Dennis, married to Clara Swope, Stoystown.  Also
  survived by mother-in-law Edna Pyle, Latrobe, and sister-in-law
  Gladys Koontz, Geneva, Ohio.  Member of Covenant Presbyterian Church,
  Boswell, and past president of the Boswell Volunteer Fire
  Department.  Observed 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 25, 1996. 
  Retired production foreman for R&P Coal Co.  Friends will be received
  from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and until the time of service at 1 p.m.
  Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell.  Deacon
  Jay Pyle officiating.  Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
