Koontz, 92, of Ursina died May 3, 2001 at her home. Born June 24, 1908 in Fort Hill. A daughter of the late Ezra A. and Anna Mary (Heath) Geyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry C., eight sisters and two brothers. She is survived by daughters, Louise Koontz and Nancy Koontz, both of Ursina, and a son Harry J. Koontz of Lexington, Ohio. Two grandchildren, Harry J. Koontz Jr. of Lexington and Gretchen Bobst of Mansfield, Ohio, and a brother Clifford Geyer of Confluence. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New Centerville Volunteer Fire Department, Kingwood Grange 1765, Confluence United Methodist Church and UMW where she held both district and local offices as well as teaching Sunday school and Bible school for a number of years. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Confluence United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald Thomas, Rev. Arthur Gotjen, and Rev. Duane Riddle officiating.
