  RALPH E. KOONTZ
  
    Ralph E. Koontz, 71, Jerome, died Aug. 1, 1985, at home.
    He was born Jan. 16, 1914, in Berlin, son of Charles F. and Maude
  (Beal) Koontz.  He was preceded in death by father, sister, Clara;
  brother, Walter; and three infant brothers.
    He is survived by mother, Jerome; widow, former Etta Oakman; and
  these children: Barbara, wife of Robert Emerick, Jenners; Charles,
  Boswell RD 1; Ralph D., married to former Joan Harman, Jerome; and
  Lloyd R. Oakman, Hunker RD 1; also 11 grandchildren and three
  great-grandchildren.  Brother of Robert, West Virginia; Martha
  Hemminger, Stoystown; Betty Cook, Salisbury; Kathleen Shawley,
  Hollsopple RD 1; Leonard, Somerset; Jack, Indiana; Jean Cristoff and
  Dorothy Jones, both of Jerome; and Carolyn Roadman, South Carolina. 
  He was a member of Jerome Nazarene Church.  Retired from Bird Coal
  Co., member of Local 998, UMWA.  Death ends marriage union of 50
  years.
    Friends were received at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville,
  where services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. John Goodworth,
  officiating.  Interment, Jennerstown Reformed Cemetery.
