Halverson Funeral Home. The body of Sharon Koontz, 30, the mother of two, was found in the trunk of her family car in Phoenix, Ariz., where she resided. Mrs. Koontz's husband, Jack, 34, is formerly from Confluence. They had moved to Arizona approximately nine years ago. According to reports, a missing persons report had been filed on Mrs. Koontz early last Friday when she failed to come home the evening before. She was employed as a secretary for Ross Construction Co., Phoenix, and had dined with a friend on that evening. After taking her friend back to her motel it is reported she was returning home. Vehicle Located A church caretaker discovered the vehicle at 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the Northwest Community Christian Church parking area, Phoenix. The caretaker phoned Jack Koontz and upon his arrival at the scene he discovered his wife's body in the trunk. Results of the autopsy have not been released as yet, but it is suspected she was strangled. Sharon died Sept. 19, 1981, at Phoenix. She was born Oct. 31, 1950 in Somerset, a daughter of Anna Margaret (Watkins) Flick of Somerset RD 5, and the late Charles J. Flick. She is survived by her husband, Jack Koontz, two children Shelly and J.J., in Phoenix; mother; and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Bonnie Irwin, Somerset; Mrs. Joyce Swift, and Charles J. Jr., both of Berlin; and Ricky Flick, Friedens. She was a member of First Christian Church, Somerset. Services will be held today with the Rev. Eugene Selle[ ] officiating.
