"Jack" Korns, 67, 145 Kevin Drive, New Oxford, Pa., formerly of Davidsville and Hagerstown, Md., died peacefully Sept. 6, 1997 at home. Born April 21, 1930 in Johnstown, son of the late Paul and Freda (Kerr) Korns. Survived by wife, the former Constance Reinholtz; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Elizabeth Korns, Silver Spring, Md.; daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Lehy, Frederick, Md., and Leslie and Stephen Wilson, Annapolis, Md.; 6 grandsons; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Matthew Siehl, Davidsville; aunt, Ruth (Korns) Griffith, Laurel View Village, Davidsville; and mother-in-law, Margaret Leasure. A 1948 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School and a 1952 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in business administration. Member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. Navy veteran of the Korean War having served from 1953-1956. Attended officer candidate school and served as the gunnery officer (Lt.) on the destroyer, USS Abbott. Branch manager for the Howard Foley Company, Electrical Contractors, Washington, D.C. until 1973. Actively involved in Local 26 I.B.E.W. Headed the Jack Stone Electrical Construction company from 1976-86. Past president of the National Electrical Contractors Association, Washington chapter and was inducted into the Academy of Electrical Contractors, N.E.C.A.'s most prestigious award. Served as president of the Washington Building Congress in 1978-1979. Had operated several battery warehouse stores in the D.C. area. Observed 45th wedding anniversary June 1, 1997. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. David's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davidsville. The Rev. Nelson F. Ilgenfritz officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorials to Hospice, 440 North Madison St., Hanover, Pa., 17331, would be appreciated.
