Born July 9, 1915, in Somerset. Son of the late Ernest Edmund and Stella Cleo (Glessner) Korns. Also preceded in death by wife, Frieda Louise Weyand, who died Dec. 29, 1988, and grandson, Jason Michael Korns, who died Dec. 26, 1991. Survived by these children: Barbara Ann Swanson, widow of Rev. Donald B. Swanson, Somerset; son, Richard Edmund and daughter-in-law, Judy Lynn Korns, Clifton, Va.; son, Dr. William Preston and daughter-in-law, Mickee Jane Korns, Somerset; daughter, Roberta Louise "Bobbi" and son-in-law Roger Wayne Long, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; daughter, Linda Jeanne and son-in-law, David Troll, Somerset; grandchildren: Brent Richard Miller and wife, Mary, North Olmstead, Ohio; Corey Ellis Miller, Akron, Ohio; Justin William, Erin L. and Emily Jane Korns, Somerset, and Morgan Troll, Somerset. Also survived by sister, Jeanne Elizabeth Clark, Old Lyme, CT. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Past member of Somerset Hospital Board. Member of Somerset Rotary Club since 1939 and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International; past member of Somerset Borough Council; past member of Somerset School Board, member of Somerset Lodge 358, F&AM; Jaffa Shrine. 1931 graduate of Somerset High School; attended University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown; 1939 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Retired as well-known veterinarian in 1989. Former Pa. State Representative from 1956-1964. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset, with his niece, the Rev. Stephanie Clark Flynn, and Rev. Joseph Beer officiating.
