Kosnosky, 84, Friedens, passed on Feb. 12, 2007, at Somerset Hospital. Born June 3, 1922, in Central City, he is the son of the late Steven and Mary (Potochar) Kosnosky. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Josephine, Mary, Ann, Catherine and Dorothy; and brothers, Steven, John, Frank, Andrew and Michael. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beatrice (Strobert) Kosnosky; children, Joseph Kosnosky and wife, Deborah, Youngwood; Joan Kosnosky, Martinsburg, W.Va.; Janet Morrida and husband, Charles, Youngwood; and Jim Kosnosky and fiancee, Carolyn Tighe, Friedens; grandchildren, Jamie, Joey, Justin, Jimmy and Angie; and great-grandchildren, Trevor and Natalie. He was a former Pennsylvania State Police Trooper who retired as a corporal with 32 years of service with Troop T on the Turnpike. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II . He was a bassist for the polka band "The 5 Jays" who played throughout the area. Upon retirement, he became an avid woodworker. He was a member of St. Peter's Church in Somerset. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where a vigil for the deceased will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Church. Monsignor Samuel Tomaselli, celebrant. Committal at Listie Cemetery.
